Swimming - "Hydrotherapy in an indoor heated pool..."

Knowledgeable and experienced staff will work with you and your dog to maximise the benefits of this highly effective therapy.

Individual programmes combining swimming with electro-magnetic pulse therapy can be designed, to improve many painful orthopaedic conditions.

The Benefits of Swimming

•   Gentle mobilisation following surgery
•   Re-build muscle lost following trauma
•   Non weight-bearing exercise
•   Mobilising stiff arthritic joints
•   Learning retrieval from water in a safe environment

•   The pressure of water can help to reduce localised swelling
•   To aid weight control for obese dogs, safely using high levels of energy, without putting undue stress on joints

•   FOR FUN!

Safety:

Buoyancy aids are used to maximise safety, and improve confidence. They also allow for assistance to be given to dogs with physical disabilities. Long lines are used to maintain full control of the  dog  without  restricting  natural movement. Industrial quality non-slip, studded rubber flooring surrounds the pool and covers the steps leading into the water.

Water quality:
Water sanitation is achieved using active oxygen – no harsh chemicals or smells to adversely affect skin or coat, or to cause anxiety to sensitive dogs.

Drying:
Optional use of our high-powered, heated "blaster" with flexible hose or cage diffuser. This can also be used for de-tangling and dust removal before swimming.

Pool Specifications:
Dimensions: 22'x 13'  depth 4' Temperature range: 65 - 75 F
