Electro-magnetic pulse therapy
Magnetic field treatment is becoming more widely recognised as a modern and completely safe method of treating a range of problems including complex injuries, with extremely good results. Sceptics believe that magnets have no effect, so why are Premiership football players treated in this way? – not for a placebo effect, I’m certain! But do not be fooled – not all magnetic treatments are the same!
From my personal experience electromagnetic pulse therapy is more effective than static magnets: I have worn a magnetic bracelet for many years, but having suffered 2 weeks of sleepless nights caused by severe muscular spasms after surgery I tried electromagnetic pulse therapy and I slept for a solid 8 hours after 2 treatments. It was the most fantastic relief I could imagine! Having used this treatment on dogs for several years I have been surprised by its calming and relaxing effect, and its success in reducing intermittent lameness in fast-growing breeds such as St Bernards, Mastiffs and Great Danes.
The most detailed research into magnetic pulse therapy has shown that injuries can be treated safely by reducing pain and speeding up the repair process – broken bones usually take 30% less time to heal, with the correct frequency, intensity and duration of electromagnetic pulses.
By influencing the natural biological process of healing this therapy can
- Reduce swelling and inflammation;
- Accelerate the repair of bones and soft tissues;
- Strengthen muscles to reduce the risk of further injury.
The advantages of electromagnetic pulse therapy are as follows:
Non-invasive –
no side effects, and no possibility of an overdose;
No sensation –
It does not create any further upset to an injured dog;
Penetrates all materials, including plaster cast, but it does not adversely
affect steel plates or bone which has been pinned.
In some animals the effect is quite remarkable, providing pain relief almost immediately in just one treatment. Others require a course of 3 or 4 treatments for the best results. The best effect of all is by combining it with massage treatment, but it can benefit many conditions as a “stand alone” treatment. |
